Join us for an in-depth training session that provides a comprehensive overview of the current pediatric immunization landscape. The Southern Alliance for Public Health Leadership will kick off the session by presenting key data on pediatric vaccination rates in the South, trends in religious exemptions, and the latest case counts for measles and whooping cough. The South Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics will offer a vital clinical perspective on the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program and discuss the significant health risks posed by these vaccine-preventable diseases. Next a former medical epidemiologist with the Influenza Division at the CDC will provide essential insights into the roles of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in shaping national vaccination guidelines.
